DEI: Sticks and Stones Book Club

SMMPTA Council's DEI Committee, in partnership with SMMPTA, SMMCTA, and Bahala presents our follow-up to  September's well-received Accountable event: Sticks and Stones ACCOUNTABLE Book Club.

We invite SMMUSD families, parents, caregivers, students, teachers, and staff members to join us April 1, 2025 from 6:30-8:00pm at JAMS' beautiful newly-renovated library for engaging discussion around Dashka Slater's book ACCOUNTABLE: The True Story Of A Racist Social Media Account And the Teenagers Whose Lives It Changed.

It's a fast read, so it's not too late to buy ACCOUNTABLE from an independent bookseller, download the digital text or audio book, or borrow from the library or a friend!

April Anderson, our DEI Committee Chair, and the DEI Committee (together with community partners Bahala and the SMMCTA, and the wonderful Librarian at JAMS- Gretchen Gies-McLaughlin) hope that you can join us for an engaging discussion around a very relevant topic! There will be light refreshments.
